Kerry Katona has jetted off to Tenerife after telling her husband to pack his bags.

The former pop star is believed to have given Mark Croft, her husband of almost three years, the boot after they rowed over her friendship with a fitness instructor.

The split came last week after Croft, 39, accused Kerry, 29, of cheating on him with Royal Marine Kevin Green at the GI Jane Bootcamp, according to the News of the World.

Kerry stayed at the ‘fat camp’ in Kent in January for a two-week intensive exercise and diet course after which she managed to lose three stone.

But after leaving the camp she is said to have met up twice with Kevin, who she also regularly texts and phones, which prompted Croft to accuse her of having an affair.

She is believed to have driven down to see Scottish Kevin – who admitted texting Kerry – at his home in Hampshire and spent the night there earlier this month.

And friends said Kevin has had a positive influence on Kerry who has stuck to her fitness regime since leaving the camp.

A pal said: ‘We thought she would come back and be on the chips and curry but she’s changed. She’s been eating well and exercising. She hasn’t even thought about taking cocaine.’

But Croft’s accusations that she is seeing Kevin behind his back are said to have made Kerry assess their relationship with her husband, with whom she has two children – three-year-old Heidi and 22-month-old Max.

The News of the World reported that she forced him to move his things into their basement and has told him to find somewhere else to live.

They have had a turbulent relationship since they married at Gretna Green on Valentine’s Day in 2007and have had several public bust-ups.

According to the Daily Star Sunday, Kerry jetted off to Tenerife last week without Mark, who is planning to move his things out of the couple’s Cheshire mansion.

A friend told the paper: ‘Kerry finally realised it’s time to lose the leech. She told him she hadn’t cheated but he was convinced. She now knows she’s better off without him.’

And they added that she hopes to relaunch her shattered public image now that she has dumped Mark and hopes she can ‘come good’ again.

‘Kerry is looking great and is determined to get her career back on track. She’s off the drugs and is better than ever. Now all she needs is a nice man in her life.

‘She’s working hard to clean up her image and hopes that now Mark has gone she can win over the public again. People only went off her because of him so she’s praying she can manage a comeback.
