She’s looking healthier than she has done in ages – and is also primed for further success on Dancing On Ice after making it through Sunday night’s preliminary heat.

But Kerry Katona has insisted that she does not want to become the kind of celebrity who encourages others to lose too much weight.

The 30-year-old, who was a guest on This Morning on Monday, said that her new fitness DVD, Kerry Katona: Real Fitness, was about mental attitude rather than promoting skinniness.

‘Do want me to be honest with you? I don’t want to be a celebrity who promotes skinniness to be successful,’ she told presenters Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

‘This isn’t about being skinny, it’s about mental, I mean – not that I’m mental – it’s about mental attitude,’ Kerry added.

‘I mean everyone knows how well documented my life has been. If it wasn’t for me exercising – it’s how it makes me feel in my head, the bonus is it makes you look good

‘If Kerry Katona can get off kebabs, get off her drugs, get off her bum – if I can do it, anyone can do it. I don’t want to be a mum to my kids like, “To be successful in life you need to be skinny,” It really helps mentally.’

The former Atomic Kitten star made her debut on Dancing On Ice on Sunday night, and was a hit with both the panel and the public, finishing third on the judges’ scoreboard and being voted through to the main competition with partner Daniel Whiston.

And Kerry – who was the last person to learn that she had won a place in the top 12 – admitted her nerves got the better of her as the results were being announced.

As the line was getting smaller and smaller, I kept looking and thinking, ‘Oh my God’, and I was getting really emotional thinking ‘My poor kids’,’ she revealed.

Because my girls were in the audience – I’ve embarrassed them enough over the few years – so I thought don’t make a show of yourself this time Kerry, and just do it for them. So I kept it together knowing they were watching.”

‘But it was like getting into the Olympics. I really thought I was gone, I couldn’t believe it.’

She also described the positive support she had received on the programme as ‘overwhelming’.

I’m not used to the praise and I’m finding it difficult to take compliments and it’s overwhelming – the support that I’m getting – and it’s such a nice feeling.’

And she said that this time she felt a ‘real sense of achievement’ from her weight loss.

‘I lost weight through liposuction last time – that was over three years ago- and put it all back on,’ Kerry admitted.
But the sense of achievement I feel in my head from pure exercise and working hard is unbelievable.

And I’m starting to feel proud of myself and it’s down to exercise, a lot of it is.’

‘I don’t’ think any woman in the whole world, no matter how slim their bodies are, is 110 per cent happy with their body,’ she added.
‘You know, I’ve had four kids, I’ve got stretch marks all over my belly, but I’m happy in my head.

As long as I’m happy in my head, I’m happy all over.’
