The speed of Kerry Katona’s transformation from overweight has-been to slimline workaholic has stunned celebrity watchers.

In just six weeks she has ended her cocaine habit, dropped from a size 14 to a size 8, and reinvented her career.

Now her mother Sue has spoken out about the changes in her daughter, saying she is convinced Kerry has kicked drugs for good.

‘Kerry’s determined to show everyone that she’s not going to relapse,’ said Sue.

‘She’s quit drugs, is eating healthy food to maintain her new size 8 figure, has moved house and is spending as much time as possible with her kids.

‘Kicking her old lifestyle isn’t going to be easy and you can never say never when it comes to drugs, but I’m confident she won’t go back to them.

‘I think she really has turned over a new leaf this time.’

After signing up with management company Can Associates, Kerry has moved to a picturesque location on the Surrey/Sussex border to live near new manager Claire Powell.

Sue, 50, says Claire has taken control of virtually every part of Kerry’s life, organising regular drug tests to ensure she remains clean.

She even claims the manager, who masterminded Peter Andre’s reinvention, pays the rent on Kerry’s luxury seven-bedroom mansion.

‘Since Claire took on Kerry, her feet haven’t touched the ground – she’s already filming another reality show and it’s meant she’s so busy she just hasn’t had time to be sad or focus on the split.

‘Kerry’s so much happier and being busy has really helped her get over Mark.’

Kerry and her four children are currently filming her new reality TV show, while her oldest daughters have moved to the same private school as Andre’s son Junior.

‘Kerry says that at times she gets lonely, mainly when she’s on her own in bed at night,’ Sue tells Closer magazine.

‘But every waking moment is spent working and running round with the kids and that’s how she’s been able to cope so well. She’s being kept incredibly busy.’

The changes came after Kerry, 29, ended her marriage to Mark Croft in February. He has since admitted squandering her £6.8million fortune.

Sue says Kerry doesn’t miss Mark, but she was hurt by his recent comments that she was ‘dead to him’.

It came in the same weekend that Kerry’s first husband Brian McFadden called her a ‘pig faced mole’ in an angry rant on Twitter.

Sue says: ‘Kerry is obviously upset that both her husbands have said such awful things about her.

‘For Mark to say that she’s dead to him so soon after their split when they have had children together is disgusting.

‘His children will read that one day. I hope he’s pleased with whatever money he’s got.’
