In the past year Kerry Katona has completely turned her life around – ending a failing marriage, moving house and completely overhauling her image.

And in a symbolic sign of her fresh start, the mother-of-four has now slashed off her long hair for a very grown-up new look.

The smiling reality TV star revealed the daring new hairstyle today after a late-night trip to the salon

In place of Kerry’s previous long style, which she often wore tied back in a ponytail, was a short bob, slightly longer at the front.

After having her hair cut last night, she returned to have it coloured at the award-winning Daniel Galvin in London today.

A spokeswoman for Kerry said the new cut was a spur of the moment decision

‘She rang me from the salon and said “I want a new style, what do you think”. She’s had long hair for a while now and she fancied something new.

‘She’s very happy at the moment, she’s not in love with anyone, or anything, she’s just in love with life.’

The new look comes just days after Kerry celebrated her 30th birthday and is just the latest stage in her re-invention.

She’s got herself back into shape with a hardcore fitness regime and started filming her new reality TV show, which will follow her as she attempts to launch a comeback and win the public round with a new image.

But while she’s looking great, there have been reports that Kerry is struggling to adjust to her new life in the South, and is eager to return to her hometown of Warrington, Cheshire.

She was quoted by the News of the World as telling a friend at a party: ‘I just want to go home to Warrington.’
