Viewers who thought Strictly was bad for splitting up couples will have been astonished by the level of pairing up going on this series in Dancing On Ice.

Long hours spent intimately in each other’s company seemed to have set Cupid off – with no fewer than three sets of contestants attracting rumours of romance.

And what’s this, a fourth couple caught canoodling off-duty on a park bench in London?

It’s Kerry Katona and Dan Whiston, but they won’t be fooling anyone with their ‘loved up’ poses designed to attract positive publicity.

Surely it cannot be any coincidence that days ago Kerry was named as the ‘other woman’ in a divorce petition.

Kerry and Dan were dressed casually in tracksuits for their park excursion after their training session, Kerry accessorising with red woollen gloves and a yellow scarf.

Perhaps overheated after working up a sweat on the ice, the pair decided to have a stroll through the park and take a seat on a bench, despite the temperature being in the single digits.

Professional skater Dan, 34, wrapped an arm around Kerry’s shoulders and showed her something on his phone, while the 30-year-old reality star leaned awkwardly into his chest.

After chatting for a few minutes on the park bench, and Kerry told an animated story, the duo stood up and walked off again, with the mother-of-four placing a hand on her love interest’s stomach.

Rather than coming off as an in-love couple, at ease in each other’s company, the whole scene appears staged and unnatural.

Little wonder, given the sensational story that dominated the headlines over the weekend.

The Mail On Sunday ran an interview with 25-year-old Sarah Green, who has accused Katona of ruining her marriage by having an affair with her husband Kevin.

‘I am only getting divorced because of Kerry Katona and I want people know that,’ the mother-of-three says.

Katona has hit back at the claims, insisting that she is not responsible for the breakdown of the Greens’ marriage.

But the trouble-prone star has admitted to sharing a kiss with the Royal marine after meeting him at a boot camp last year.

Sarah, a childminder, says: ‘Before my husband met Kerry Katona we were happy and we were a family.

‘Now my children are going to grow up without their father living with us and I am facing the prospect of divorce at the age of 25. I begged Kerry to leave my family alone.

‘It breaks my heart to think that all of this could have been avoided. Kerry has talked extensively about Kevin in interviews.

‘Every time she does it rakes over painful old memories for me. I’ve lost a lot of weight and my confidence has been shattered.

‘But I wouldn’t be going through this is if Kerry hadn’t been so selfish. I am a private person and a mother but it makes me so angry to see Kerry Katona being portrayed as a survivor and victim when she ruined my life.’

Despite the scandal, Kerry is adamant that she only has eyes for Whiston.

‘Dan is the new and only man in my life,’ she told the Daily Star.

‘It’s official, me and Dan are going to get married. He’s totally restored my faith in men.’

If it’s genuine, their romance comes in a long line of celebrity romances on shows like Dancing On Ice and Strictly Come Dancing.

Fellow contestants Jennifer Metcalfe and Sylvain Longchambon have already sparked up a relationship.

The pair were forced to deny that their steamy on-air kiss was just a publicity stunt to win votes from the public.

But Chloe Madely has spilled that there is more than one romance growing on the ice.

She said: ‘This year there are definitely romances already. Romances plural. At least one female celeb and one male celeb are romancing their partners.

Katona invited more scandal last night after launching a foul-mouthed tirade at judge Jason Gardiner last night.

Asked on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man about the judge, who famously said Dancing On Ice should be aiming to get celebrities like Victoria Beckham, not Katona, on the show, she said: ‘Well I don’t know him well enough to comment, but what a p****!’

She added: ‘I haven’t got a pot to p*** in! Well, apart from to do drug tests.’

‘I’m really honoured I’m back on TV and it’s not for Crimewatch.’
